Finish Grader Operator – Road Construction

Art Walker Construction is hiring an experienced Finish Grader Operator to support our road construction and sitework crews. This position requires precision grading skills and the ability to bring roadways, building pads, and other surfaces to final line and grade. We offer steady, local project work with pay based on verifiable experience and skill level.

What You'll Do

Operate a motor grader to perform rough and finish grading of subgrade, road base, shoulders, and other project areas
Establish and maintain proper elevations, slopes, drainage, and surface tolerances
Read and follow grade stakes, construction plans, and project specifications
Coordinate with survey personnel, foremen, and equipment operators to achieve required grades efficiently
Identify soft spots, drainage issues, and areas requiring additional material or compaction
Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
Work safely around ground crews, traffic, and other heavy equipment
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards

What We're Looking For

Proven experience operating a motor grader for finish grading in road construction or sitework
Ability to finish surfaces accurately to specified line, grade, and slope
Working knowledge of grade stakes, elevations, and construction plans
Experience with GPS or automated grade control systems a plus
Understanding of road base preparation, drainage, and compaction requirements
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Reliable transportation to our main yard in Citra or job sites
Dependable, safety-minded, and team-oriented
